"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand…For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, 'Do not fear; I will help you.'" - Isaiah 41:10, 13

That is one of my favorite passages, and I often gravitate to it during hard times.  The truth is, raising a child on the spectrum is hard.  All of parenting is hard, but having a child (or two, or three…) with autism adds another level that many of us feel unequipped to handle.  There's a reason the autism logo is a puzzle piece…children with autism are like a puzzle.  No two children have the same struggles or challenges.  Having a child with autism can feel lonely and isolating, and efforts to find people facing the same challenges as you frequently turn up nothing.  But the God who made us has promised to help us, and in Him we find our wisdom, guidance, strength and support.  I hope this blog not only reminds you that you are not alone in your challenges, but most importantly encourages you to seek the only true source of strength and comfort.
